Purpose EURAMET e.V. is the Regional Metrology Organisation of Europe, made up of the National Metrology Institutes and Designated Institutes. Metrology is the science of measurement. Precise and reliable measurements, and advances in this field, have a profound impact on our understanding of the world and on our ability to shape it, and are essential to drive innovation within our knowledge-based economy. EURAMET's mission is to develop and disseminate an integrated, cost-effective and internationally competitive measurement infrastructure for Europe, considering the needs of industry, business and governments. Through knowledge transfer and collaborative research, it facilitates the cooperation of its members and associates in their dissemination of measurement standards and provision of metrological solutions to key societal challenges in fields such as health, energy and the environment.
